A practical water-carrying format for relief supply, field distribution, and portable storage programs.
Semi-Collapsible Jerry Can
A semi-collapsible jerry can is designed for projects that need a lighter and more storage-efficient water container while still keeping a more structured carrying shape than a fully collapsible format. It is suitable for relief-oriented supply, field distribution, emergency response, and temporary water transport programs where handling convenience and packing efficiency both matter.
Compared with rigid jerry cans, this format can help reduce empty-pack storage pressure and improve transport efficiency. Compared with fully soft water containers, it offers a more stable carrying shape and more familiar handling during filling, carrying, and pouring.
At LIQPACK, we support semi-collapsible jerry can projects with practical communication on structure, size selection, project packing, and shipment coordination based on the customer’s actual application needs.

Why Choose a Semi-Collapsible Jerry Can
A semi-collapsible jerry can is often selected when buyers want a water container that is easier to handle than a fully soft bag, while still taking less space than a rigid jerry can during storage and shipment. It offers a practical middle position between portability and structural support.
This makes it useful in projects where the container needs to be carried, distributed, and used in field conditions, but where shipment efficiency and empty-pack handling still matter. In many cases, the product is reviewed for water transport in relief, emergency, and institutional support programs.
Compared with a fully rigid format, a semi-collapsible jerry can can reduce storage pressure and improve shipment efficiency. Compared with a fully soft format, it can offer a more stable shape during use and easier handling during filling, carrying, and discharge.
portability and structural support
relief, emergency, and institutional support programs
educe storage pressure and improve shipment efficiency
- Structured body design for easier carrying and handling
- Integrated handle for manual transport
- Screw-cap opening for filling and discharge
- Reduced empty-pack storage volume after use
- Suitable for field-use and portable water distribution scenarios
Product Structure and Handling Design
The semi-collapsible structure is designed to combine practical portability with basic shape support during use. This allows the container to remain easier to fill, carry, and pour, while still reducing storage space when empty.
A typical semi-collapsible jerry can includes an integrated handle, a screw-cap opening, and a body format that can partially flatten after use. This structure helps improve handling in field applications where water containers need to be moved, stored, and reused in practical working conditions.
For procurement review, buyers usually pay attention to handle design, opening format, carrying comfort, body shape, and how the product behaves before filling, during use, and after discharge.
Main Specifications
Common formats include 10L and 20L options. Additional project-specific sizes may be discussed according to quantity, packing format, and intended use.
10L Semi-Collapsible Jerry Can
Typical 10L projects are often reviewed when buyers need a lighter format for easier carrying, smaller-volume distribution, or more flexible handling in field conditions.
- Weight per piece: 210g
- Expanded size: 30 × 25 × 20 cm
- Spout / cap: Screw cap, diameter 32 mm
- Material: LDPE
20L Semi-Collapsible Jerry Can
The 20L format is more suitable when projects need a larger water volume per unit, fewer pack changes, or more centralized water transport and storage planning.
- Weight per piece: 290g
- Expanded size: 32 × 32 × 46 cm
- Spout / cap: Screw cap, diameter 32 mm
- Material: LDPE
Our semi-collapsible jerry can meets UNHCR, FDA, and UNICEF standards for global emergency use, ensuring safe, durable use for water and hazardous liquids in various applications.
Folding Method
The semi-collapsible format is designed to keep a more defined carrying shape during use while still reducing storage space after discharge. This makes it different from both fully rigid jerry cans and fully collapsible water containers.
In practical use, the container is easier to fill and pour because the body maintains a basic working shape. After use, the structure can partially collapse, which helps save storage and transport space for empty packs.
This format is particularly useful where water needs to be distributed across temporary sites, relief points, mobile operations, or other working environments where containers must be carried and handled frequently.
- Easier filling and pouring than a fully soft bag
- More storage-efficient than a rigid jerry can when empty
- Suitable for repeated carrying and short-term field use
- Useful in relief, emergency response, and mobile distribution scenarios
Durability and Drop-Test Reference
For relief-oriented and field-use applications, durability is an important part of product review. Buyers usually want to understand not only the structure of the container, but also how it performs when filled, carried, and exposed to handling stress.
In our reference test setup, the jerry can is filled to its rated volume and evaluated through repeated drop conditions. The purpose of this kind of review is to observe whether the product can maintain structural integrity without leakage or visible damage under defined handling-related impact conditions.
For project discussions, this type of drop-test reference can provide a more practical basis for durability review than a general claim alone. Detailed product and test information may be discussed during technical communication.
Durability and reuse-related handling reference
- Filled-container impact review under defined conditions
- Leakage and visible-damage observation after repeated drops
- Useful as a handling-performance reference for project evaluation
Typical Applications
Relief Distribution
Suitable for projects that require portable water-carrying formats for temporary or emergency support.
WASH Programs
Relevant to water, sanitation, and hygiene-related projects where portable water transport is needed.
Field and Camp Supply
Can be used in situations where water needs to be carried and distributed across non-permanent sites.
Institutional Preparedness
May fit preparedness-oriented purchasing where portable water storage and handling are both considered.
For portable water storage with softer foldable structure, see our Collapsible Water Container.
What Buyers Usually Need to Confirm
Before moving forward with samples or orders, buyers typically review the target capacity, water-contact requirement, opening size, carrying format, marking requirement, packing method, and destination conditions. These details affect how well the product fits the intended project and how efficiently it can be packed and delivered.
